Chambers County sports announcer arrested in two-year drug investigation

CHAMBERS COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) – A sports announcer in Chambers County was arrested in a drug bust after a two-year investigation.

On Friday, officials searched the home of 71-year-old Marvin Turner on North 14th Street in Lanett.

Officials seized a large amount a meth, money, and two firearms – one of which was an illegal short barrel shotgun.

Turner faces the following charges:

  • Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
  • Trafficking In (Methamphetamine)
  • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of a Sawed-off Shotgun

Turner was taken to the Chambers County Detention Facility.

The investigation is ongoing.
