2024 Paralympic Games: Bose Bejide, Thomas Kure Fall Short of Podium Spots

Bose had a successful second lift of 100kg, however, she was unable to complete her third attempt at 118kg, ending her competition outside of medal contention.

Venezuela’s Sarahy Fuentes claimed the gold medal with a new Paralympic record of 124kg.

China’s Jinping Xiao took the silver with a lift of 119kg, while Great Britain’s Olivia Broome matched the silver medal lift but finished with bronze based on other criteria.

Nigeria’s Thomas Kure narrowly missed a podium finish in the men’s up to 65kg category.

Kure lifted 205kg on his second attempt but failed to complete his final attempt of 212kg, leaving him in 5th place.

China’s Yi Zou took the gold medal, lifting 215kg.

Mark Swan of Great Britain came second with 213kg lift while Hocine Bettir (Algeria) took the bronze medal with a 209kg lift.
