Not a single minute — Maresca sends stern warning to Sterling and 10 other Chelsea outcasts

Chelsea’s manager Enzo Maresca maintained his blunt stance in his recent address of the club’s outcasts.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca did not mince words in his latest press appearance, as he sent a clear message to certain players in the squad that they must leave this summer.

The bloated nature of the Blues’ squad is well-reported. They began a massive clear-out operation this summer and had identified the players they deemed surplus to requirement.

‘I am not a Jackson fan’ - Former Premier League star advises Chelsea to sign Osimhen

A former Premier League player has commented on Chelsea’s current striker situation, endorsing Victor Osimhen of Napoli.

Chelsea have been aggressive in their approach, isolating the selected players from the main squad dynamics. The following players: Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja, Kepa Arrizabalaga, David Datro Fofana, Angelo, Lucas Bergstrom, Deivid Washington, Tino Anjorin, Alex Matos, and Harvey Vale have been told they have to leave the club and have been training alone.

What Maresca said

Maresca has been candid about his views on the squad size since the start of the season. He told reporters that he focuses his training on 21 players and pays no mind to the rest.

Lately, he was asked about the players who have been training separately, specifically the most high profile of the lot, Raheem Sterling, and he earned the England international and all others in a similar situation that if they remained at the club beyond the summer, he would not spare them a single minute.

“We’re going to see. Because I prefer to be honest with the player, with Raheem, I’ve been exactly the same,” he told reporters, per Goal. “The ones who are not involved, they are all players who are not going to be involved and they don’t get any minutes in case they stay.

“I don’t know what happens when the window closes. We will see who is here and who is not here. The only thing I can say is the ones who are going to get minutes are the ones who I think can help us. The rest, they are going to…”

“It’s not just Raheem. It’s all the players who at this moment are training apart. At the moment the transfer window closes, they are not going to get minutes. I’ve already been clear with them and honest and this is the only reason why.”
