Barcelona move for Bajcetic 

The Blaugrana’s plan for the season with respect to the transfer window was thrown into emergency mode when 17-year-old Marc Bernal, who has impressed in the pivot position, injured his ACL and was ruled out for the rest of the campaign

The Barcelona leadership immediately entered the market to clog the hole in their squad, and due to their financial situation, they could not approach choice targets.

They found an ideal candidate in Liverpool’s highly-rated 19-year-old defensive midfielder who got his footballing education from the Celta Vigo academy. His profile and availability for a loan move enticed Barcelona, and according to Fabrizio Romano, they made an offer to Liverpool for a dry loan. They were expected to cover the player’s wages and pay the Reds €4 million in loan fees. However, their approach has been reported to be unsuccessful.

Bajcetic set for Salzburg 

The Athletic reported tonight that the youngster is close to completing a move to Salzburg. The report stated that the Austrian side reached an agreement on a straight loan deal. They confirmed Barcelona’s approach but stated they could not close the deal. 

Fabrizio Romano added that Barcelona could not proceed with the deal due to their continuous bout with FFP. The youngster is expected to travel to Salzburg to complete the loan move on Thursday.
