Earlier this month, the club reportedly reached an agreement with an unnamed team for the transfer of the 23 year-old Nigerian midfielder.
Despite the reported agreement, there has been little progress since then, and Onyedika continues to play for Club Brugge.
This uncertainty has created tension, as the player remains in Westkapelle for now.
“Of course, a lot of things start to move during those last days, or there are last-minute bids for players. That creates nervousness everywhere,” Hayen explained in an interview with Het Nieuwsblad.
“But we have already done our homework. So we have to wait and see about that too.”
Onyedika still has three years remaining on his contract with the club.
