While acknowledging the progress of both players, Peseiro believes that Lookman is more technically skilled.

Lookman and Osimhen have become two of the most sought-after targets in the current summer transfer window.

Lookman has drawn interest from top European clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City. Meanwhile, Osimhen has been linked with a potential move to Chelsea.

Peseiro, who coached both players during his tenure with the Super Eagles, expressed delight with the pairs’ development.

“It’s no coincidence that they’ve both grown this year,” Peseiro told SportItalia via Football London.

“This is because they’re both part of a strong system of play. Atalanta and Napoli prioritize possession and attacking football. In such environments, players thrive. Italian football has changed significantly in recent years.”

However, the Portuguese coach rates Lookman higher than Osimhen in terms of technical ability.

“Ademola is more technical than Osimhen, more inclined to create opportunities, and he is now also scoring regularly. He is performing exceptionally well this year,” Peseiro added.

“He has developed under (Atalanta manager) Gian Piero Gasperini. Now, with consistent playing time, he can aspire to achieve great things.”

Peseiro also led Nigeria to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in February.
